Invasive shot hole borers were first discovered in the US in 2012 here in the San Gabriel Valley. Since then they have cropped up in South Africa, Israel, Australia, and is now starting to show up on parts of Europe. Although the damage caused by the pest is not as noticeable as when it was first discovered, it remains a threat to trees and shrubs, both in landscapes and in the wild.
I'm Frank McDonough, Botanical Information Consultant here at the Los Angeles County Arboretum & Botanic Garden. My job is to answer your questions about plants and just about everything related to them.

Google Street View Tour of Madagascar Section
The below embedded Google Map Street View gives you a virtual tour of the LA Arboretum's Madagascar Spiny Forest Exhibit. I created the tour using a Insta360 3X camera, and was able to upload it to Google Maps and Google Earth using my iPhone.
